Former presidential candidate, Oby Ezekwesili, has blamed the economy for the beggarly attitude of gatemen and security personnel in public places,Igbere TV reports.Mrs Ezekwesili talk about severally on her tweet on Saturday about the spate at which security personnel channel energy into accosting incoming and departing guests with the aim of getting tips in order to supplement their income.She said“Pretty sure that one is not the only Nigerianextremely alarmed and crying about thedehumanizing effect of the economy on some of ourpeople. When mobbed by gatemen, securitypersonnel and their other colleagues whose GoodMorning is Give Me Money , I feel very sad for usall.“The rate at which this culture of begging bygatemen and security personnel has become the‘creative supplement’ to their income is a proxy forwhat’s going on with the rest of society.
